Purpose of Personal Information
The purpose for which Massey Henry collects personal information will be identified at or before the time the information is collected. Massey Henry may collect personal information for the purpose of:
Candidate
Massey Henry uses the personal information we collect from you for a number of purposes:
a. Processing job applications, in partnership with our clients, on whose behalf Massey Henry are instructed to help fill a job vacancy. This means that if you apply for a specific job, Massey Henry may pass your details to the relevant client to proceed with the application and as a result, you may receive further direct correspondence from them.
b. Searching for relevant candidates for confidential recruitment assignments where Massey Henry’s client is not initially named. This means that if Massey Henry believes you are suitable for a specific role, Massey Henry may pass your basic details on to the relevant client. If that client agrees regarding your potential suitability, Massey Henry will then discuss this with you in more detail. You may be initially interviewed for the role by Massey Henry. If successful, you might be invited for an interview by Massey Henry’s client. At this point, Massey Henry will pass further details to the client and you may receive further direct correspondence from them.
c. Improving the service we offer. For example, you may be asked to complete a survey or questionnaire which Massey Henry has created.
d. For marketing purposes to send you information on our services, newsletters, etc. Individuals that “Opt-Out” from receiving emails from Massey Henry will be unsubscribed upon request. This is in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (CASL).
Massey Henry will only use your information in accordance with this Policy, or where we are required or authorized by law to disclose your information to others or, have your permission to do so.
Please be aware that Massey Henry is not responsible for the data processing activities of others, such as our clients.
Client
Massey Henry will use client data to perform our services and other legitimate business purposes such as marketing.
Source and Referee
Massey Henry will use source and referee data to perform our services, in particular, to enable us to obtain your opinions on a candidate.
Massey Henry may also use this information to enable us to market our services to you as a potential client. Massey Henry may as well invite you to become a candidate in respect of the provision of our services.
The type of personal data we collect and process
In all cases, Massey Henry collects and processes personal data about you, including your name, address, telephone number and email address.
Candidate
If you proceed with a job application, or should Massey Henry consult you about a role, you may be required to submit additional personal data. For example, date of birth, education and career history and curriculum vitae (CV), or resume. Your CV or resume may contain employment history, education, professional qualifications, memberships, details of papers written, references and referees, amongst other things.
Massey Henry might also collect personal data from third-party databases and other public sources.
Client
Massey Henry will also collect information about the role being offered and other information provided to us by your organization.
Source and Referee
As well as basic contact information we will also collect information regarding your credentials as a source, details of your relationship/knowledge of a candidate and your opinions of that individual. We may obtain this information directly from you or publicly available information.
Consent
Massey Henry seeks consent for all personal information we collect, use and disclose through information provided to individuals prior to collection, or at the time of collection.
If you have voluntarily provided personally identifiable information, including but not limited to, your name, title, phone number, or email address (business or personal), you have assumed an implied business relationship with Massey Henry and therefore consented to the collection, use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information as described in this privacy policy. Massey Henry will not use personally identifiable information for any purpose outside of the implied business relationship. Should Massey Henry require personal information for a new purpose, we will contact you to seek consent for that new use.

Limitation for Collecting, Using, Disclosing and Keeping Personal Information
Massey Henry does not collect, use or disclose personal information of individuals except when individuals give consent and provide the information on a voluntary basis. In such cases, we will provide you with a description on the information we need. In all cases, Massey Henry limits the amount and type of information collected to only the personal information that is required to provide the individual with the requested information, product, or service. We review the personal information in our possession regularly and retain personal information only if it is necessary to provide the individual with the requested product, service or information or for follow-up action and delete or destroy this information after that time. In some cases, however, legal reporting and retention requirements necessitate that Massey Henry retain information for a specific amount of time.
Massey Henry does not sell or trade any personal information with third parties. Massey Henry may transfer information to service providers where information processing is outsourced by Massey Henry in the course of its administrative procedures in specific cases.
Any personal information that Massey Henry retains is kept confidential and Massey Henry takes numerous security measures (e.g. encryption, restricting access to personal information to individuals requiring access, etc.) to protect personal information in our possession.

Massey Henry respects the privacy of our members, partners, website visitors and Internet users and will protect that privacy as vigorously as possible. Our security measures include secure storage, restricted access to records and data processing equipment and password protocols. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us electronically. This is especially true for information you transmit to us via e-mail. We have no way of protecting that information until it reaches us. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best efforts to ensure its security on our servers.

Massey Henry takes all reasonable steps to keep personal information as accurate, complete, current and relevant as necessary for the identified purposes.
Massey Henry makes readily available to individuals our Privacy Policy and related procedures for managing personal information. We provide access to the Privacy Policy and related procedures to individuals on our Web site. Any questions about the handling of personal information by Massey Henry can be raised with our privacy officer.
At the written and signed request of an individual, he or she may view or edit their personal information as collected by Massey Henry. Massey Henry will inform them of what personal information we have about the individual, what is being used for and, in cases where it has been disclosed, to whom it has been disclosed. In your request please include the following information: Name, contact details, membership number, the nature of your request, including whether you wish to view and/or edit information or inquire regarding the use and/or disclosure. We will require acceptable proof of your identification before providing a response.
Massey Henry will reply to your request in no later than thirty days after receipt of the request, or if we are not able to respond within this time period, we will send you a notice of extension. If we are not able to disclose all the personal information we hold on you, we will give you a reason for our inability to do so, unless prohibited by law.
